It’s Raining Goals.

Morning greeted us with rain after days of scorching heat. I love the rain, but it was not welcomed today. Kickoff was in an hour.

We boarded the bus all excited. I distributed jerseys and asked if everyone had a good sleep. 8-9pm was the majority response. Good.

30 minutes later, we arrived at Alice Smith School. We setup under a tent and prepared ourselves. Simon Grimshaw, organizer of the event, briefed us on the rules and answered questions.

Our first match was against our hosts, Alice Smith 1. I gathered my 7 players in a circle and said, “We have prepared all we can in the last 2 weeks, there’s nothing more that we can do but to give our best effort”. “Don’t allow our opponents to score. Keep focused. Enjoy yourselves”

The first 5 minutes of the game, we managed to hold our opponents but we were not pressuring them on their half. A cross came in from a run down the flank. Goal! We were down 0-1. Another goal followed. The whistle rang. 0-2: Defeat.

I tried to calm my players down from their loss. “Let’s concentrate on the next game”. International School of Kuala Lumpur was our next match. 3 players were substituted and I hoped for a better result. The floodgates opened; we went down 0-3. Ring. I walked towards my players who were downcast and demoralized. I ordered them back to the tent and to forget about what just happened.

Brendan came up to me and said, “Coach, I want to be keeper”. He had requested weeks before not to play keeper. I guess he was frustrated and wanted to do something about it. I admired his initiative. “Put on the gloves and jersey” I answered.

Mont Kiara was up next. We gathered again on the field. I asked my players jokingly, “The first game, we lost 0-2, the second, 0-3; how about our third?” Brendan cheekily replied “0-4”. We all laughed. I said, “Let’s try to change the score this match. We conceded again: 0-2.

Our 4th match was with the Australian school. The boys came through with a narrow win. An inch perfect cross from Kevin Wenzel and a one touch volley from Marvin Rössger gave us our first win. The team was elated. We celebrated like champions of the tournament.

We were humbled 0-3 in our final group match by Garden International School. They were superior to us physically, technically and tactically. They played like a well-oiled machine. Timed runs, accurate passes and on target shots from outside the penalty box were our reckoning.

I went to the scoreboard to check our standings: 5th place out of 6 teams. We were to play our last match to determine our overall position out of 12 teams.

Mont Kiara 2 was our last opponents of the day. I gave the players a final incentive to do well: “Score or assist a goal and you get to keep the jersey”.
Guess what? We won the match 3-1. We came in 9th place out of 12 teams.
“It’s an improvement”, mentioned a father of one of our players. I said, “Yes, considering we came in 2nd last in our previous tournament”. I promised we would do better the next time.

Player of the team throughout the competition was Doguhan Fidan. He showed class, maturity and talent. The future looks bright for him. As for the rest, we still have work to do. We are looking forward to our next training session.

Our experience at the competition taught us 2 lessons:
1) We still have to improve in areas like tactics, communication & composure.
2) Tangible and immediate rewards are practical incentives for performance.

I Hit the big number 21 ! Well the day started with my family and I going to jogoya , it's a really nice buffet place in star hill ! A few of my friends
came along which was really nice to have them there with me . Ok lets cut to the night event ! haha. Ok I have never had a birthday party in my life ! Let alone a surprise party ! But when i reached home at 10.30pm i found myself in a very dark house . I didn't really care about the lightless house that i was going into because my friend Paul Gan was waiting outside for me to get his comb . Rushed downstairs to get it , but it was no where to be found la . So I went back upstairs to tell him it wasn't in my room and then all of a sudden the lights popped on with people shouting SURPRISE ! HAHA but to thier shock I was no where to be seen , because as soon as I heard them I rushed into the kitchen . Sorry for rushing off guys but I was just really shocked , happy and really shy ! Ok la enough story , time for pictures ! =)

Gay Day Part 3

The day began when I woke up...at 1 in the afternoon. I got ready...duh. Then I waited for Paulie Waulie to pick me up from my place. But he had to fetch the princess back home first. In the end he came later than what we planned.

Leon arrived at my house first and was speechless when he saw my sister. What to do? Good looks run in my family.

Anyways, cut a long story short, we went for lunch at the famous Burns shop at Taman Tasik Selatan . I go to that shop very often with my wife, Aaron.

We had a good hearty meal as Spartans always do. We met this little boy called Dell. Here's a picture.

Dell was super cute. He had a cheeky smile when he knew his picture was being taken. He knows he's cute...just like I know I'm hot. What? I have awesome eyes ok!!

There's another boy we met. Isac. He's so cute too!!

Then we decided to go to Midvalley for a movie and more ~~gay~~ guy bonding. We were too late to buy tickets for Shrek 3 so we decided that The Last Mimzy was the way to go. The show was not bad but we were in the smallest cinema I have ever seen and there were only ten rows. And only FIVE were filled.

So comes to the part on Mr. Leon. Well for those of you who don't know Leon's TDCG name, it's Pinky. hahaha...from the cartoon Pinky and the Brain. Pinky's the tall skinny one. So Paul and I decided on a rhyme for his name. This is how it goes.

mister pinky loves his winky always so kinky and is always up to his hanky panky likes a little spanky spanky but he's ever so stinky !!

Haha...anyways, we went for dinner at the end of the day at Ajimal's, the most famous mamak in all of Sri Petaling. Then we played Divine of the All Mighty with my brothers and cousin, which is a girl by the way.

And after all that excitement, we all just went straight home, where I still am.

Jean and I were talking about Wentworth Miller the other day in the car. And we both shouted "I love his eyes!" at the same time.

She gave me a funny look of course. Which made me say, "Oh man, I'm so gay!"

Yesterday I went to watch the FA finals at Edmund's place. And GUESS WHO WON?!?! Chelsea of course! Wooh! They are the best!

At first, I thought of just going home to watch coz if I would be the only supporter at Edmund's. But Jean said that since her team wasn't playing, she would support Chelsea as well. teehee...smart girl!

Jared, what can I say, he just likes violence. Edmund is another one. After the game he "predicted" tomorrow's headlines.

Rude Awakening !!

The most improtant day of my familys life ... It was on the 3rd of March and everyone was still sleeping as it was still only 7am in the morning ... I share a room with my brother btw , yes the superstar named Vince .. Anyways it was really a peacefull morning until we heard the noise that would change the rest of our lives ..

The sound got louder and louder as though an earthquake had struck Malaysia for the first time .. As the sound got clearer to me and my brother it was the voice of my older sister Vanessa not Vanilla as some people call her .. So it wasn't an earthquake after all but the banging on my room door loud as can be !!.. As i was still in a daze...not really understanding what my sister was shouting about at the top of her voice, and i "mean" at the top of her voice !! ..

I finally jumped up from bed to see wat was going on, worrying that something bad had happened... Vincent on the other hand just told my sis to leave us alone.. As i got closer to the door I knew she was shouting that someone was coming, how important could this person be, i really had no idea la .. I finally opened the door and asked her what was going on ?

Vanessa : THE MAID IS COMING !!..
Me : What ?!!! the maid is coming and u are screaming at the top of your voice,I thought something bad had happend ..
Vanessa : Yes the place is a mess its a bad thing ok ..
Me: OMG i cant believe u woke me up cause the maid is coming ..
Vanessa : Clean up the place la its so messy !! what would the maid think if she sees this mess ..
Me : Isn't she the maid i thought her job was to clean up the mess ??

If it was the Queen of England i would undersatnd la , but the maid !?!.. Well anyways the maid has been with us for a month now and she has really been great ..Hahaha this really happened ok no joke ..Btw her name is Fairy..

We had a "surprise" party for Jean on Tuesday. Believe it or not, she's the one who planned it! I mean, she asked her friends to plan it. So Kris planned it.

We had it at Chili's...just a few of Jean's close friends. I think she would have prefered futsol. But I think she was just happy that she spent her birthday with her friends and family.

I have not been updating. Been too busy with football training and all. But I just got back from leaders' retreat and a lot of people have been asking about my legs. Just so you know, my leg hair is all gone. Here's how it happened.

The other day, when I got home from football practice, my mom showed me some cream and said, "Daniel, try this. It's good for your leg." I was really tired so I decided to try the cream.

So I let her put the cream on my legs...all the way to the middle of my thighs. And she told me to wash it off after three minutes.

In those three minutes, it felt like red ants were crawling up my legs. Deng! Burning hot I'm telling you. But even then I didn't feel as bad as when I started to wash the cream off. Let's just say that when the cream came off, my hair did too. What was my reaction? I laughed. That's how tired I was...

For those of you who don't know, I have a new phone now. Guess what happened to my old phone? It got spoiled. Shuddup Jean! Stop laughing!

The other day, I was taking a shower. And then, there was no electricity. I couldn't see a thing. And I really needed to grab the shampoo. So I took out my phone (don't ask why the phone was in the shower with me), and pressed a button so that the light would come on.

Everytime the light went out, I pushed the buttons again. Then suddenly, the light didn't come on anymore. ~~Piss~~ Tick me off! And I looked at my phone and saw that it was all filled with water. Deng!

Futsal

Today, I went for futsal...as usual. I'm happy that today quite a lot of the girls turned up for practice. I'm really thankful for Jean, Steph and Chu Yueh. So far they have been very committed.

Kris, I'm going to be very tough on you when you get back! Miss so many weeks of training. Darren, come for one then never come anymore. Lousy! Call me Coach but don't listen to me. Hopefully Rose comes every week. I really want her to come. She is a good player.

The girls are showing improvement. Finally! I'm very happy.

They are getting better. Some of them ~~are even better than Terry~~ can kick harder than some guys now.

Other girls who want to come, we play on Sundays.

Misfortune

Today, I fetched Jean home from church. Darren asked me to fetch Sulin to the train station. So I did. Jean followed me because I didn't know that I knew the way to KL Central.

So we left church at 6.30 and dropped Sulin there and then I realized that I actually knew where the place was. And on the way back, I took a wrong turn. So Aaron, Jean and I got stuck in the KL jam.

By 7.45, we were still stuck in the jam and I really needed to ~~pee~~ use the toilet. I was desperate, man. So I turned to Aaron who was sitting at the back and asked him to take over the wheel.

I jumped out of the car and ran to a bush...which I didn't realize was close to a factory. And you know, the thing about factories is, they usually rear dogs.

Just as I was about to...erm, you know, I heard barks. And I wondered for a moment what those sounds were. Dogs! Deng! So I bent down and pretended to pick up a stone. Oldest trick in the book! After a few times of bending down and getting back up, I finally managed to escape the crazy dogs. ~~Piss~~ Tick me off!!

I got to a restaurant in time. But it had no electicity so I had to use my handphone as a flashlight.

The jam was so bad that I managed to run back to the car. And we still had to wait awhile before we managed to get to Jean's house...at 8! Deng!

Last Saturday, Jean asked me to accompany her for JC Works practice. I went to look for her at the office instead.

I bumped into Darren at the office and I asked him where everyone was and he said Basement 3. But I wanted to check where Jean was first.

So I went up to the finance department to look for her. And found that she would only be getting off work at 12.30

Jean says that no one else dares to walk into the finance room to see her. But I didn't really notice the tension. So I went in wearing my sexy shorts and a T-shirt with "Robben" written on the back.

And, in the end, I went to eat. Good thing I managed to call Aaron and Anthony, otherwise I would have had to eat alone.

I went for my brother's graduation on Sunday. Sean sang. He was really superb la... he just sings so well and Ian worship leading was just something i would never expect .. hahah very cute giant of a brother.
